The Celtics will look to win their third straight game against the young Sixers commanded by the flashy point guard Jrue Holiday. The 76ers have a pretty good squad full of youngsters but they are missing their central piece which is Andrew Bynum. Despite that, they are not playing that bad so far and they have showed some consistency out there. Their main weapon is going to be their defense, they have allowed their opponents only 88,6 points per game which is quite a low mark compared to our quite high 99,8 points. They also force opponents to commit a lot of turnovers so the Celtics will need an extra effort in taking care of the ball.

Rondo vs Holiday
It was obvious that this was going to be the big matchup of the game. Since Bynum has been out of the lineup with an injury, Holiday has taken the reins of the team by averaging 18 points, 4 rebounds and 9,5 assists with a 43% from 3 in 39 minutes. His defense is good and he is a nice three point shooter. Expect him to play a lot of catch and shoot too. Also, as he is a turnover prone (he's averaging 5 per game) so Rondo has to take advantage of it and suffocate him. Plus, Jrue doesn't have a good mid-distance shot so he will either shoot from three or penetrate. Rondo's job is to run the team as he always does, if Rondo's not functioning the team is gonna be off.
Keys to the game
- Defense is going to be always the crucial factor. As we said in the previous post, the Celtics showed some flashes of good defense against the Wizards but they are not a good offensive team. So, it's time to be aggressive and bring our patented Celtics defense. To win this game, we specially have to be careful on the three point line because we are playing against a team that although is not shooting well from three (31%) they like to shoot a lot and they have a lot of guys that can shoot the ball very well.
- Taking care of the ball MUST be our second priority. We have to avoid doing silly passes that lead to silly turnovers. It's all about doing the right passes and playing unpredictably.
- We definitely need our bench. Our bench guys have to step up so they can give rest to the the starters and provide fresh air to the game. I really want Green to step up in this game and I think he will be successful tonight.

Los Celtics esperan poder ganar su tercer partido consecutivo contra el joven equipo de los Sixers comandados por su eléctrico base Jrue Holiday. Los 76ers tienen un buen equipo plagado de jóvenes pero juegan sin su jugador franquicia Andrew Bynum. A pesar de ello, no están jugando nada mal y han mostrado ser consistentes en algunos partidos de los que han jugado. Su principal arma es su defensa ya que tienen una media de puntos en contra bastante baja con 88,6 y en cambio los Celtics están dejando anotar a sus rivales casi 100 puntos por partido. También suelen forzar muchas pérdidas así que los Celtics necesitaran un esfuerzo extra si quieren ganar el choque.

Emparejamiento del partido
Rondo vs Holiday
Era evidente que este iba a ser el gran emparejamiento del partido. Desde que Bynum está lesionado, Holiday ha asumido el rol principal del equipo anotando de media 18 puntos, 4 rebotes y 9,5 asistencias con un 43% de acierto en tiros de 3 jugando 39 minutos. Su defensa es buena y es un buen tirador de tres. También le gusta jugar mucho al "catch & shoot". Por otro lado, es un jugador que pierde mucho la pelota (5 por partido), y es por eso que Rondo tiene que aprovechar y intentar hacerle perder todas los balones que pueda. Además, Jrue no tiene un buen tiro de media distancia así que sólo tirará de tres o penetrará. El juego de Rondo tiene que ser el de siempre, llevar el equipo como el sabe. Todos sabemos que si Rondo no dirige, el equipo no funciona.
Claves del partido
- La defensa como siempre va a ser un factor crucial. Como dijimos en el anterior post, los Celtics mostraron alguna señal de buena defensa contra los Wizards pero hay que tener en cuenta que los Wizards no son un buen equipo ofensivo. Es por eso que tenemos que ser agresivos y poco a poco ir recuperando nuestra "patentada" defensa Celtic. Para ganar este partido, tenemos que tener cuidado en la línea de tres ya que jugamos contra un equipo que, aunque no está tirando bien de 3 (31%), les gusta mucho tirar triples y tienen jugadores tiradores.
- Cuidar la pelota tiene que ser nuestra segunda prioridad. Tenemos que evitar hacer pases tontos que derivan en pérdidas tontas. Sobretodo hay que hacer pases correctos y no ser predecibles.
- Finalmente, necesitamos nuestro banquillo. Nuestros reservas tienen que dar la cara para poder dar descanso a los titulares y proporcionar sangre nueva al partido. En este partido necesitamos especialmente a Green ya que hace falta que poco a poco se vaya adaptando al juego y vaya demostrando su valía.
